One of the types of music that we love playing at wedding receptions near the end of the night are the songs that people sing along to at the top of their lungs – the sing-along songs! Generally, people have had a few drinks, and hearing songs that are a little more downtempo, but totally singable, helps bring the crowd together and leave people with a hugely positive vibe.
There are a handful of songs that work in this way, but we wanted to share one of our favorites with you today. It’s a relatively new addition to this growing list, but every time that we’ve played it’s absolutely brought the house down.
We think that some of it has to do with the popularity of ‘How I Met Your Mother’, and the way that the song was featured during Marshall and Ted’s road trip – along with a handful of appearances later in the show. It’s not the kind of song that we would have reached for, but sometime in the past two of three years it really got big (again).
I’d recommend busting this one out either near the end of night when everyone is good and loosened up, or during dinner when everyone is likely to want to sing along to it. This song is included in our downloadable guide that helps couples get the most out of their wedding when they’re doing all the music themselves.
