As I type this, Eric and I are working at a wedding in our hometown and we thought we’d take a moment and give you a quick tip about how you might be able to save time and money when it comes to your dessert. This tip is a little different than our standard music tips, but we think that it might be valuable nonetheless. We’re seeing cupcakes more and more often at the weddings that we go to, for a number of reasons:
- They’re not expensive
- You might be able to make them yourselves
- There’s no need for catering staff to distribute them
This helps keep the evening moving along nicely, so that there’s no downtime between the cake cutting and the open dance floor; if people want cupcakes, they just head over to the table and get them.
Anyway, just wanted to drop a quick food-for-thought note about that – we’ve seen a lot of weddings lately have a smaller cake for cutting and then a table of cupcakes for the guest’s purposes.
